Pinay beauty queen Victoria Velasquez Vincent declines offer to represent New Zealand in Miss Universe 2021
Walang panghihinayang si Miss Universe Philippines 2021-Charity Victoria Velasquez Vincent sa kaniyang naging pagtanggi sa alok sa kaniya na maging kinatawan ng bansang New Zealand sa Miss Universe 2021.
Sa kaniyang Instagram account, ibinahagi ni Kim Victoria ang balitang ito. Kuwento niya “Shortly after the MUPH coronation night, I was offered to be Miss Universe New Zealand 2021.”
Pero matapos daw ang isang linggong matinding pag-iisip ay napagdesisyunan niyang huwag tanggapin ang alok.
“After a week of contemplation, countless discussions with my family, friends and team, I eventually came to the decision to politely decline the offer,” paglalahad ng beauty queen.
Marami raw ang nagulat at nanghinayang sa kaniyang desisyon dahil ito na raw sana ang pagkakataon niya na makasali sa prestihiyosong international beauty pageant.
“So many people will say I'm crazy for turning down this opportunity, but I had to choose what I know in my heart was the right thing to do.”
Mas matimbang daw para kay Victoria ang pagiging Filipina na isa sa malaking dahilan kung bakit hindi niya tinanggap ang alok.
“My heart is, and always will be, here to serve the Philippines. Some may say I'm not Filipina enough, and that's ok. I know who I am. I know what I stand for. I am a Filipina,” saad niya.
Nagpapasalamat naman daw ang Caviteña beauty sa tiwala at oportunidad na ibinigay sa kaniya.
“Thank you to the MUNZ org for your kindness. I am endlessly grateful that you had faith in me and offered me the opportunity of a lifetime.
"Thank you to the MUPH org for offering your support regardless of what I decided to do.
"I am so excited to see what the future holds for us, Philippines,” pagbabahagi pa ni Victoria.
