Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards has been active in the showbiz industry for over a decade, but only a few people know Alden Richards, or Richard Faulkerson, Jr. in real life.

In his benefit concert titled ForwARd for his AR Foundation, The World Between Us actor promised to bring the viewers to places where he grew up and to moments in his life when he still didn't know that he would be the star that he is today.

"In years that I've been here, siyempre, I'm sure kilala na rin ng mga tao si Richard Faulkerson, Jr. but not in detail," he admitted to GMA entertainment press.

"So this concert will give you a sneak peek of that, not sneak peek kasi malalim 'yung mga [documentary]. Actually in the past few days, nagsu-shoot na ako ng docu materials for this, e.

"As opposed to my concerts before, parang it's really more of the showbiz journey, more of the life journey of Alden Richards. But, this concert, part lang si Alden Richards, it's really more of Richard Faulkerson, Jr.

"So sino ba talaga [siya]? Ano ba ang mga pinagdaanan ko nung when I was not yet introduced with the idea to be part of the showbiz industry? 'Yun 'yun."

Alden added that the documentary-concert will visit their family's ancestral house in Laguna, where he grew up and the school where he attended high school.

"Sa Laguna, pupuntahan natin 'yung luma naming bahay. I'll show people kung saan ako nanalo ng una kong pageant, my school where I graduated high school.

"Basically, detail by detail, hindi siya parang 'A Day in the Life,' e. 'Yung 'A Day in the Life' kasi 'yun lang 'yung paggising mo until matulog ka, 'di ba?

"But basically, I want to share my story para at least 'yung launch ng AR Foundation is hindi lang siya in passing."

Unknown to many, Alden also experienced hardships, which was the main reason he started AR Foundation.

"Nadaanan ko halos lahat ng paghihirap sa mundo. Hindi pa lahat, konti pa lang pero mahirap, mahirap 'yung pinagdaanan ko when I was young," he revealed.

"And that's what I've been telling a lot of people as well when we were doing the documentary was I want to break a cycle.

"'Yung cycle na hirap kang mag-aral kasi wala kang pera? Kasi I've experienced that myself. I've been there, I know how it feels.

"I want to be a beacon of hope and the AR Foundation wants to be a beacon of hope to these kids who struggle in education in terms of being financially stable."

ForwARd is directed by Frank Lloyd Mamaril and is set to stream on January 30, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.
