Kate Valdez is Kat in Noel Layon Flores and Mikey Sutton's 'Dream Walker' comic book
Filipina beauty and Sparkle artist Kate Valdez has been noticed by Filipino-American writer Mikey Sutton and international visual artist Noel Layon Flores. Her chinita morena appeal impressed the two artists which made Kate become the face of their fantasy-thriller comic book titled 'Dream Walker.'
According to an article from Business Mirror, 'Dream Walker' is a tale about a blogger named Kat who enters a person's dream, retrieves objects from it, and uses them to fight the monsters.
Mikey believes that Kate has the most effective facial reactions and timeless beauty that suits the main character of his comic book. On the other hand, Noel was actually familiar with Kate since he worked as a visual designer in the 2016 sequel of Encantadia wherein Kate played the role of Mira, the daughter of Sang'gre Pirena (Glaiza De Castro).
After their virtual meet-up, the Kapuso actress shared her creative inputs to intensify the story. Kate suggested Mike watch Netflix's The Chillin' Adventures of Sabrina, an adaptation of the hit '90s fantasy teen show about the titular witch, Sabrina. After watching the series, he was able to finish his comic book script in a week.
Mikey also commended Noel for the amazing visual interpretation of the story. “I was shocked when he sent me the first 'Dream Walker' art. It looks like a film. I was amazed at how he shifted styles with the dream and reality scenes,” Mikey shared in the report.
'Dream Walker' is set to be released on Valentine's Day, February 14, via the Second Skin Comics website.
Kate recently starred in the GMA Afternoon Prime series Stories from the Heart: Love On-Air starring Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos. In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Kate mentioned that she still wants to play kontrabida roles for she enjoys the art of being the antagonist in a series.
"Actually po gusto ko pa ring i-continue na mag-portray ng mga kontrabida roles kasi na-enjoy ko na siya. Before nu'ng mga una pa, natatakot pa ako dahil sa mga comments ng mga viewers pero ngayon I know how to handle it na," she claimed.
