Binibining Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold heads to Japan for Miss International

By Ron Lim

It's crunch time for Binibining Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold as she departs for Japan to compete in the Miss International pageant, set to be held on December 13.

In the most recent post on her Instagram account, Hannah posted several photos of her at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport with her luggage and several Filipino flags. In the caption to the post, Hannah thanked the Binibining Pilipinas organization for the “once in a lifetime opportunity” and her fans and followers for the “never ending support.” She then expressed her excitement at getting to meet the other delegates for the pageant.

Hannah's departure comes after a couple of send-offs were organized for her by two different organizations. First to do so was the Department of Science and Technolog, a send-off that Hannah called “beautiful and heartwarming” and moved her to promise that she would raise the flag not only of the country but science and technology as well.

The Binibining Pilipinas organization also organized a send-off for her that she described as “a dream come true.”

Before she left for Japan, Hannah still had time to celebrate World Children's Day by sharing several photos of her doing activities with schoolchildren, such as reading a book to them as well as handing out school supplies. She also called on her followers to stand up for children by “listening to the issues that matter to their generation such as quality education” and encouraged them to help even in simple ways like “lending a reading book, donating school supplies, creating welcoming and safe learning spaces for all genders and empowering our teachers.”

Should Hannah emerge victorious, she would be the fourth Filipino queen to do so, following Precious Lara Quigaman, Bea Santiago, and Kylie Verzosa.

Aside from Hannah, Miss Tourism World Philippines Justine Felizarta is also in Vietnam to compete in the Miss Tourism World pageant to be held on December 3.
