Rob Gomez is one of Herlene Budol's leading men in the upcoming GMA Afternoon Prime series 'Magandang Dilag.'

Newbie actor Rob Gomez will be starring in a new series after being part of GMA Telebabad's Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss.

He is part of the lead cast of the upcoming GMA afternoon drama Magandang Dilag, bannered by actress/vlogger Herlene Budol.

In the series, Rob will portray Jared, one of Herlene's two leading men. Benjamin Alves is her other love interest in the show.

Rob described his character as an "athlete na fashionista."

"Jared is a rich guy with a good heart. He's being mistaken for being a douchebag or rude but, deep inside, he's good hearted," he also said.

This is the first time that Rob will be working with Herlene and, just like what we see on her vlogs, he already bore witness to the comedian's straightforward personality.

"I've always seen her as a real, real person, very outspoken, very truthful. She's true to herself and she wouldn't lie about it so 'yun ang pagkakakilala ko kay Herlene."

To break the ice while on set, Rob made sure to be a gentleman to Herlene.

"We've never met before but going through my experience of knowing her, everyday working with her, I've always been supportive of her in terms of our script. On our days working, I always try to make her comfortable. Every day I offer her water, food, things like that, the small stuff."

Magandang Dilag premieres February 27 on GMA Afternoon Prime.

It also stars Sandy Andolong, Chanda Romero, Al Tantay, Adrian Alandy, Maxine Medina, Bianca Manalo, Angela Alarcon, and Jade Tecson. - with interviews by Aaron Brennt Eusebio
