Dingdong Dantes, Piolo Pascual tied for Best Actor at the 2022 TAG Media awards

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes bagged his first award of the year as he tied with Piolo Pascual for the Best Actor award in the recently concluded 2022 TAG Awards Chicago.

Organized by TAG MEDIA, the award-giving body recognizes and highlights the achievement of celebrities and influencers in entertainment, entrepreneurship, and social media.

Dingdong won the Best Actor award for his mini-series I Can See You: AlterNate where he plays the dual role of Michael and Nate. Piolo, meanwhile, was recognized for his role in the crime series Flower of Evil.

“May you continue to inspire others. Keep blessing the world with your core gift,” TAG Media Awards said in the announcement.

The Family Feud host was previously praised by netizens for his portrayal, revealing they got goosebumps from watching the series, especially the psychotic Nate and how the character is different from the actor's previous roles.

One netizen even commented that Dingdong's acting deserves the Best Actor honor, while another one described one of his characters, Nate, as intense.

I Can See You was a Philippine Romance anthology by GMA Network. The anthology comprised three seasons with season 1 having four stories, season 2 with three, and AlterNate being the whole of season 3.

Aside from Dingdong, Juancho Trivino also received the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as Padre Salvi in the hit portal fantasy series Maria Clara at Ibarra.

Other Kapuso stars were also nominated in TAG Media Chicago such as Barbie Forteza (Klay) for the Best Actress Award, and Julie Ann San Jose (Maria Clara) for the Best Supporting Actress award, among others.
