Dingdong Dantes, excited for his upcoming film 'Firefly'
Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes can't help but express his excitement that his upcoming GMA Public Affairs' film, Firefly, will now push through after it was halted by the pandemic.
In an interview with Lhar Santiago on “Chika Minute” for 24 Oras, Dingdong expressed how lucky he is to have known about the story of the movie even before the pandemic started.
“Napakagandang kuwento po nito. In fact, before pandemic pa lang, narinig ko na 'yung kuwentong ito and mapalad ako na kumbaga na share sa akin itong project na ito even before,” he said.
He added, “Sabi ko nga, nung time nung pandemic, 'Matutuloy pa ba ito?' Hindi namin alam, pero masaya ako malaman na finally andito na, buong-buo na yung cast.”
The movie will revolve around looking for the magical island of the fireflies and will star Dingdong, Voltes V: Legacy stars Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega, Sparkle Artist Max Collins, child star Yuan Mikael, and veteran stars Epi Quizon, Alessandra de Rossi, Cherry Pie Picache, and Yayo Aguila.
Dingdong is sure to get busy with different projects lined up aside from his upcoming movie. He's also currently hosting the game show Family Feud and the informative show Amazing Earth on GMA.
He is also set to do a new series, though he did not give any details yet, aside from having a “very, very interesting” story.
With multiple projects on Dingdong's plate, how is the actor planning to balance his schedule? He answered, “Definitely magkakaroon ng overlap po lahat 'yan pero kakayanin.”
He added, “Tsaka naniniwala po ako na may timing ho talaga para sa mga tamang project and kung para sa'yo talaga, para sa'yo.”
He then lauded GMA for producing unique TV series one after another, “Nakakatuwa dahil yung talagang sequence of events ng GMA pagdating sa pag-produce ng mga kakaibang television series ay nandyan po and mas excited po ako.”
With summer just right around the corner and the upcoming busy schedule, do they (Dingdong and his wife Marian Rivera) look to spend some time to relax?
“Depende rin ho e kasi syempre nagpupunuan na rin po ang mga flight pero pag-uusapan namin. Kailangan din namin ng ano, kahit a few days,” he said.
