It's been a week since Kristel Fulgar officially tied the knot with her now-husband, Ha Su-hyuk.

Their love story has touched many hearts, marked by destiny, dedication, and deep faith. One thing that made fans swoon was Su-hyuk's love for Kristel that he even embraced the actress' religion to be with her.

In a heartwarming interview with Toni Gonzaga, the actress-vlogger opened up about their journey--from their first meeting to their wedding day last May 10.

"Isang istorya na plinot ni God for me. May rine-request ako and sobrang blessed ko po rin talaga na talagang binibigay sa akin in a right time," Kristel shared.

While many believed she had always dreamed of falling in love with a Korean, Kristel clarified that this was a common misconception.

"Iba kasi 'yung nakikita mo sa K-drama at sa totoong buhay. 'Yung dating culture nila like mabilisan. Parang 'I like you, you like me, tayo na.' Wala silang ligaw," she explained.

But their love story began as she saw how Su-hyuk was different.

"Classic type of man po siya. Ayaw niya rin 'yung modern style ng dating sa Korea. Gusto niya slow burn din. Gusto niya patient din ang love. Sobrang na-appreciate niya 'yung values na meron ako. As in willing to wait talaga," Kristel said.

One of the most defining moments for Kristel was when she saw Su-hyuk's sincere commitment to her faith.

"Kahit wala ako sa Korea, tuloy-tuloy po siya. Pumupunta ng church mag-isa," she recalled. "Isa sa reasons kung bakit siya naniniwala rin kay God kasi naniniwala siya na gift ako from God. Naniniwala din ako na gift siya ni God para sa akin. "

From the beginning, both were aligned with their intentions as they dated with marriage in mind. Kristel even admitted that being in love changed her perspective.

"Matagal po ako naging bitter sa mga couple. Sabi ko,' 'Di ako ganyan. Ano ba 'yan.' Parang kinikilabutan ako 'pag may nakikita akong nagp-PDA. Pero ngayon, parang gets ko na," she said with a smile.

Now officially husband and wife, the couple plans to grow their family soon.

"Ten years ang age gap po namin. Ayaw na namin magsayang ng oras," she shared. "Parang tinitingnan namin maikli ang buhay. Iyon din actually isa sa mga parang tingin ko mapapa-strong ng relationship pag-inisip mo na hindi mo alam hanggang kailan ka. So minsan kapag nag-aaway kayo, hindi mo alam hanggang kailan iyan. Kaya kailangan mo i-treasure ang iyong moment kasama siya."

Looking back, Kristel feels grateful for the wait and everything she learned along the way.

"May right timing po talaga. Kasi naisip ko rin kung dumating siya ng maaga sa life ko baka may mga hindi pa ko nade-develop sa sarili ko na character na maging dahilan na hindi kami magkakatuluyan. Pati siya...."

She added, "Self control kasi nagagamit ko siya sa lahat ng aspeto sa buhay. sabi ko nga sa sarili ko, kung magkakaanak ako one thing man na gusto ko mamana from me is self control. Kasi alam mo sa sarili mo na lagi mo magagawa na is tama kapag meron ka self-control. Para sa akin worth it siya."

Kristel and Su-hyuk officially became a couple in November 2024 after Su-hyuk joined Iglesia ni Cristo, a faith Kristel deeply practices.

In February, they happily got engaged and finally tied the knot on May 10.
