Rocco Nacino reveals Dingdong Dantes directed the helicopter scene in 'DOTS Ph'
Rocco Nacino revealed interesting facts about the Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation).
In an interview with entertainment reporters last November, he shared that his co-star, Dingdong Dantes, is not limiting his job as an actor, but also shares his inputs to Dominic Zapata, the director of the much-awaited local adaptation of the Descendants of the Sun.
In fact, Rocco revealed that Dingdong directed the badass scene where the Armed Forces of the Philippines's First Special Forces or the Alpha Team is riding a helicopter for a military operation.
Rocco plays as Sergeant Diego Ramos a.ka. Wolf, while Dingdong plays as Captain Lucas Manalo a.k.a. Big Boss. Both characters are part of the DOTS Alpha Team.
"Alam mo si Dong ang nag-direk no'ng shot," Rocco shared.
"It was so much fun kasi 'yung chopper na nasa likod namin is totoong sinakyan namin at lumipad siya na naka-hawak lang ako sa isang strap [habang nasa ibabaw ng] dagat.
"So, maraming footage do'n sa camera namin na kailangan burahin kasi nakikitang sumisigaw ako.
"Nakakatakot din e!"

The plug showed a sneak peek of the intense military operation of the Alpha Team where they are hunting down a group of local terrorists.
From there, it transitioned to the romantic first meeting of Captain Lucas Manalo and Dr. Maxine Dela Cruz, played by Jennylyn Mercado.

Hiring a stunt double for action scenes has been a practice in the industry for years already.
However, Rocco, who is now a navy reservist, refused to hire one for him to embody the responsibilities of a military man even onscreen.
He explained, "We have to do it.
"Pwede naman naming i-double pero sabi ko nga, we can't.
"Tayo 'yung Alpha Team.
"Pinagdaanan natin 'yung Special Forces training.
"'Pag bumabati kami sa set, sumasaludo kami sa isa't isa."
Rocco further explained, "Itong [Special Action Force] training, it opens my eyes to join Navy."
"Nagkaroon ako ng sense of patriotism.
"Siyempre, hindi pwede abusihin ['yung power] kasi ngayon representative na ko ng AFP so hanga ako sa mga sundalo talaga.
"Maganda 'yung timing saka happy din 'yung Armed Forces of the Philippines na talagang may celebrities na pumapasok sa path na 'to.
"Kasi iba rin ang power ng TV if you can use it to inspire, not influence, pero inspire para hindi mo inaabuso 'yung power mo."
Joining Rocco and Dingdong in the Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation)'s Alpha Team are Jon Lucas, Prince Clemente, and Lucho Ayala.
