Barbie Forteza, challenged by her role in 'Maria Clara at Ibarra'
Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza admitted that she was challenged playing the role of Klay in GMA's upcoming primetime series Maria Clara at Ibarra however, she also expressed how much fun she had playing the role.
In an interview with Nelson Canlas on Chika Minute, Barbie admitted that the most challenging part of her role was that she doesn't have any other character or model to base her character on.
“Challenging kasi - parang ginawa kong reference 'yung parang pag first time mo mag travel sa bagong bansa. 'Yung hindi ka sanay sa kultura nila, sa routine nila sa bansang iyon, 'yung ganung experience,” she said.
She also added that she had to take note of the different ways people converse, communicate, how they act, and dress when in a different country as her reference to playing the character.
Despite the challenge, the young actress said that she still had fun playing the young nurse and vlogger who gets transported in the novels of Jose Rizal.
“Naging fun sya for me kasi the way ko rin ginawa 'yung character, 'yung pagiging kikay, hindi ko inalis 'yung pagiging Barbie Forteza,” she added.
In a previous interview, Barbie admitted that she saw herself in Klay, the way she converses with others and how she handles herself is very like the actress.
Barbie also admitted that she has been a fan of co-actor Dennis Trillo who plays Crisostomo Ibarra, especially when they started working together.
“Talagang pinag aralan niya 'yung character niya. Kaya pag siya 'yung kaeksena ko, hindi ako pwedeng magpa petiks petiks. Kailangan aral ko rin 'yung script,” she added.
Both Barbie and co-actress Julie Ann San Jose, who plays Maria Clara, have gushed over Dennis before, expressing how excited they were working with the Kapuso Drama King.
Barbie revealed that she always dreamed of working with Dennis, while Julie expressed how honored she is working with the actor.
