GMA Afternoon Prime viewers are in for a treat as the award-winning GMA Entertainment Group brings another heartfelt story with its newest drama, My Father's Wife, premiering on Monday, June 23, right after It's Showtime.

My Father's Wife revolves around the story of Gina (Kylie Padilla), a loyal friend who helps her childhood best friend, Betsy (Kazel Kinouchi), chase the American dream, only to fall for the same man, Gerald (Jak Roberto). Convinced that Gina always takes what she wants, Betsy plots revenge by manipulating Robert (Gabby Concepcion), Gina's father. When love and envy collide, betrayal spirals into vengeance--and a daughter pays the ultimate price.

Directed by Aya Topacio, the former associate director of another masterpiece Pulang Araw, the new teledrama boasts a stellar cast led by seasoned TV-movie star Gabby Concepcion and reliable actress Kylie Padilla.

Completing the star-studded cast are Jak Roberto, Kazel Kinouchi, Maureen Larrazabal, Sue Prado, Andre Paras, Arlene Muhlach, Caitlyn Stave, Shan Vesagas, with the special participation of Snooky Serna.

Direk Aya Topacio told GMANetwork.com how remarkable her actors are in this new GMA Drama series.

She stated, “Alam mo 'yun, a dream come true for a director, na palaging sinasabi sa akin ng mga mentors ko na ang 'key' palagi sa isang magandang pelikula o serye is your actors. Sobra po ako proud dun. At ako po ay nabigyan ng mga brilliant artista po.”

Reunion of Gabby & Snooky

Loyal fans of Gabby Concepcion and Snooky Serna will absolutely love their reunion on My Father's Wife as Robert and Minda, respectively.

Their heartwarming moments together on screen will take viewers' breath away and remind them why these actors are two of the best in show business.

Kazel Kinouchi's stellar performance

Kazel Kinouchi, who got her big break in Abot-Kamay na Pangarap as Dr. Zoey, is playing another villain role on My Father's Wife.

Expect another stellar acting performance from Kazel as Betsy.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Kazel said she's doing her role differently, “It is very different lalo na 'yung social status ni Betsy kay Zoey kasi Betsy grew up with nothing at all. So, even the way I talk, I dress. 'Yung mga nuances ko ibang-iba siya kay Zoey.” Kuwento ng promising actress. I had to make it look [na iba]. Ayoko, sabihin ng tao na, 'bakit parang Zoey pa rin 'yung nakikita ko?' “I want them to see me here as Betsy.”

Intense and emotionally charged scenes between Gina and Betsy

Kapuso viewers will be glued to their TV when watching My Father's Wife, especially with the intense, dramatic, and confrontational scenes between Gina (Kylie) and Betsy (Kazel).

The two brilliant actresses gave hints about their heavy scenes during the GMA Afternoon Prime Grand Media Day with the press.

“Meron, hindi naman mawawala 'yun.” Kazel said.

“Sabi nga ni Direk, nung una meron kaming scene na parang hindi dumampi [yung sampal]. May sakitan, pero siyempre ayoko saktan si Kylie. Parang [sabi ni Direk], 'sige pa! more pa!'”

Kylie added,“ 'Pag sinabi naman ni Direk na more pa, ibibigay naman namin. Wala namang personalan 'yun, kasi nagkaroon na kami ng foundation outside of the character, empathy to each other.”
