After conquering Miss Eco International last year, Thia embarks on her new journey by joining Asia's Multimedia star Alden Richards in the new primetime series.

In an exclusive chat with GMANetwork.com, Thia revealed that she cried upon learning that she will be part of The Gift.

Thia narrates, “Sobrang thankful ako! Actually, when I get the call umiyak ako, kasi I did not expect this role.

“And sobrang excited lang ako and, at the same time, nakaka-pressure siya, kasi kasama ko si Alden [Richards], ang galing ng cast namin.

“So, the pressure is on but I am willing to take the challenge,” Thia added.

When asked which is more challenging between being a beauty queen and being an actress, Thia Thomalla quickly said that her journey as a beauty queen pushed her to the limits.

She explained, “I think for me mas mahirap, for myself lang, ah, mas nahirapan ako sa pagiging beauty queen kasi that's where I started.

“That's the process of my journey where I really started from the bottom talaga where I needed to find myself, to understand myself and because of that namo-mold ako ngayon.

“I know myself more, I'm more confident and it shape me to become a better actress and because of that mas willing ako to take risk.”

Meanwhile, Thia also has kind words with her The Gift co-star Jo Berry, whom she described as a 'humble' person.

“Sobrang saya! Jo Berry is so humble, so happy all the time.”
