'Victor Magtanggol,' nakakuha ng positibong review mula sa isang sikat na men's magazine

Marami ang tumutok sa first episode ng GMA Telebabad superhero series na Victor Magtanggol, kabilang dito ang isa sa leading men's magazine sa bansa na FHM.

Sa inilathala nilang review sa first episode ng telefantasya, inilarawan nila ito bilang "surprisingly noteworthy" at "more than just watchable."

Pinuri nila ang isang "well-plotted" action scene kung saan hinabol ng karakter ni Alden Richards na si Victor Magtanggol ang isang snatcher sa palengke.

"... [W]hen the snatcher gets trapped in the karenderya section of the market, the fight scene begins. And, boy, we shit you not, it was the best fight scene we've ever seen in Philippine television's recent history. It's superbly well-choreographed. The camera angles were perfectly placed for each big punch and kick, capped off with it looking like it was done in one take," sulat ng FHM.

Bukod dito, nagustuhan din nila ang pararelismo ng isang superhero at ng tinaguriang mga "bagong bayani" na mga overseas Filipino workers (OFW).

"The comparison of an Overseas Filipino Worker sacrificing a lot for his family and an actual superhero with powers and a magic hammer is established here, adding a hint of social commentary along the way," mababasa sa review.

Umani din ng papuri mula sa FHM ang nakakamanghang computer-generated imagery (CGI) ng show.

Si Dominic Zapata ang nagsisilbing direktor ng superhero series, habang ang GMA Post Production naman ang nasa likod ng computer graphics nito.
