GMA Pinoy TV was a proud sponsor of the Filipino Dragon Boat at the 5th Boracay International Dragon Boat in 2011. Bronzed and bemadalled bronze! The Filipino Dragons raced in full power and might at the 2-day dragon boat races at the 5th Boracay International Dragon Boat Festival. After being scorched bronze by the blazing sun, the team was awarded a matching bronze medal. Read more

Team Pilipinas (Smart Gilas) at the 22nd Dubai International Basketball Tourney

GMA Pinoy TV was a proud sponsor of the Smart-Gilas team at the Dubai International Basketball Tournament at the Al Ahli Stadium last January 19-30, 2011. Team Pilipinas played with heart before a sell-out crowd of Kapuso fans. For seven game nights, the stadium erupted with Filipino team spirit. GMA Pinoy TV captured the moment for everyone to see. Team Pilipinas (Smart Gilas Pilipinas) at the Fiba Asia Stancovic Cup

Aside from being naturally resilient, Pinoys are also endowed with a formidable spirit that keeps them hopeful and optimistic as they work hard for a better life for loved ones back home. This spirit soared when “Smart Gilas Pilipinas”, the Philippine men’s basketball team, participated in the third FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup last August 7-15, 2010. Giving the games their all, the nationals raised the Filipinos’ pride and dignity by finishing fourth in the tournament, where ten countries from the Middle East and South East Asia competed. For the hundreds of Filipinos who came to cheer on the national team, the games provided not only sheer entertainment but also a good reason to feel proud to be Pinoy. Read more
