San Miguel Beer escapes Blackwater in OT | NCAA Philippines

San Miguel Beer escaped Blackwater in overtime, 90-88, to open the PBA Philippine Cup elimination round's first quadruple header on Tuesday.

The Beermen stared at an 84-88 deficit with less than three minutes to play in the extra period, but Chris Ross saved the team with a 5-0 run to get the lead. Von Pessumal added a free throw to extend their cushion to two points.

Mike Tolomia pulled up for a triple in one last gasp for the Elite, but his attempt missed at the buzzer, giving SMB its fourth straight win.

An Ed Daquioag triple at the 1:20 mark forced the game into overtime after several attempts from Ross and Alex Cabagnot failed to decide the game in regulation, 84-all.

Mo Tautuaa registered 26 markers and 14 boards for the Beermen while Arwind Santos was a point shy from a double-double, finishing with 9 points and 13 rebounds.

The Beermen (5-2) will play again on Thursday against Phoenix. Blackwater now has a 2-4 card and will be back in action on Wednesday against the Meralco Bolts.
