Perpetual taps Myk Saguiguit as Altas head coach, Joph Cleopas for juniors team

The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) made some coaching changes ahead of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 96.

Myk Saguiguit will be the new head coach of the Altas, leaving his former post as head tactician of the Junior Altas. He will replace Frankie Lim, who served UPHSD for two years.

Saguiguit will take over a squad that ended its NCAA Season 95 campaign at seventh place with a 5-13 card.

Replacing Saguiguit as head coach of the juniors team is former Perpetual player Joph Cleopas. The juniors concluded Season 95 with a 7-11 record.

"Ang unang goal ko is to instill discipline sa team and then make it to the Final Four. Baby steps," Cleopas said in the statement.

The Philippines' oldest collegiate league announced last June that only four sports will be played for Season 96. Host Colegio San Juan de Letran said only basketball, volleyball, swimming, and track and field will be played for the next season.

The NCAA found its new home in GMA Network via a landmark deal which will last for five and a half years, including the league's centennial anniversary in 2024. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/MGP, GMA News
