Former San Beda University Red Lion and National Collegiate Athletic Association most valuable player Sudan Daniel has passed away. He was 31.
An update on the Philippine Collegiate Champions’ League Facebook page shared that the basketball player died Saturday afternoon.
“The Philippine Collegiate Champions League would like to extend its sincere condolences to the family of former San Beda Red Lions player Sudan ‘Superman’ Daniel, who passed away earlier this afternoon,” it said.

“May eternal repose be granted unto him and may God’s perpetual light shine upon him,” it added.
Daniel reportedly died due to an asthma attack. He was last seen spending the Christmas holidays with the twins David and Anthony Semerad.
He died just days after his birthday on Dec. 17.
