Jeo Ambohot makes most of last year with Letran as he gears up for pro ranks

Jeo Ambohot is making the most of his last playing year with Colegio de San Juan de Letran as the graduating big man is looking at throwing his name in this year's PBA Rookie Draft.

The 6-foot-7 bruiser said he's giving everything he's got on the floor as the Knights aim to retain the title in the ongoing NCAA Season 97 men's basketball tournament.

"Sa akin naman, last playing year ko na ngayon so 'yun, ginagawa ko 'yung best ko ngayon kasi nga magpapa-draft na ako sa darating na [PBA] draft," said Ambohot on the heels of their tight 80-77 win over Lyceum of the Philippines University.

Against the Pirates, Ambohot dropped a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds to go along with five blocks and two assists as they stayed perfect in five games.

With Ambohot setting his sights on the pro ranks, Letran mentor Bonnie Tan said they are fully supportive of the big man as well as of other senior players.

"We wish him well and not only him but all our graduating players, si (Christian) Fajarito and Allen Mina," Tan shared.

"We live and die with them kasi nga hindi na sila makakabalik sa college and win or lose, or kung ano man mangyari sa resulta namin, na-inform namin sila na nasa kanila 'yung bola to make their own career sa basketball."

"Kung gusto nila ng happy ending or bad ending, nasa kanila na 'yon."
