Perpetual coach Myk Saguiguit on his veterans taking charge: ‘Trabaho nila ‘yon’

University of Perpetual Help System DALTA head coach Myk Saguiguit was hardly surprised that his veterans Kim Aurin and Jielo Razon took over in defeating Lyceum of the Philippines University, 72-69, on Sunday.

After all, Saguiguit thinks it’s their natural job to lead, especially with a young Altas crew.

“‘Yun naman dapat. Talagang trabaho nila ‘yan kasi ‘yung roster namin ngayon, puro bata talaga,” Saguiguit said as they kept their play-in hopes alive.

“Wala kaming na-experience na liga sa labas, talagang NCAA lang. Malaking bagay na ‘yung mga senior players ko ay nagtatrabaho.”

Saguiguit also shared that Razon wasn’t actually in his tip-top shape after sustaining an ankle sprain last game.

Luckily, Aurin delivered, finishing with 22 points, five rebounds, and one assist while Razon chipped in 14 markers and five boards.

“Yun ng sabi ko sa kanila heading into this game, gusto naming itapak 'yung first step so luckily nakuha namin tong against LPU but its another day tomorrow para mag-prepare for the EAC game," Saguiguit said.
