Coach Myk Saguiguit says Perpetual star Kim Aurin already ripe for the pros

With what he's been showing off so far, Kim Aurin may just be ready for the next level.

According to Myk Saguiguit, his coach at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, Aurin is already fit and primed to take his talent to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and he's showing it with his play in this current NCAA Season 97 tournament.

"Pwede na sa pro si Kim Aurin, kumbaga talagang pinakita niya ngayon na 'ipakikita ko pa, hindi na ako aasa doon sa draft combine'," said Saguiguit after their 59-52 win over Arellano University on Sunday.

"Siguro sabi niya sa sarili niya, dito pa lang magpapakita na ako para sa combine silip na silip na ako."

Aurin is one of the leaders on the floor for Final Four-peat seeking Perpetual.

The 25-year-old shooting guard posted averages of 14.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 blocks in nine games in the elimination round, where the Altas wound up fifth with a 4-5 card.

In the play-in round, Aurin further displayed his wares.

The 6-foot-1 senior took over in the fourth quarter as the Altas eliminated the Chiefs to advance to face the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Blazers in another do-or-die contest to determine the last Final Four cast.

Prior to that, Aurin also took charge in their 63-60 crucial win over Emilio Aguinaldo College last Friday which catapulted them to the play-in stage.

"I give credit to Kim Aurin kasi kita naman na nag-take over talaga [siya]," Saguiguit added. "[Yes], he already applied for the draft."
