Coach Charles Tiu apologizes to CSB community after Blazers fall short of Final Four

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde head coach Charles Tiu on Thursday apologized to the Benilde community after his squad fell short of booking a Final Four slot in the NCAA Season 97 men's basketball tournament on Wednesday.

In a tweet, Tiu said, "It was a disappointment for us as we finished 4th in the elims but lost in our play-in games."

Benilde finished the elimination round at the fourth spot with a 5-4 card, but lost to San Beda Red Lions in the 3 vs. 4 match, and the University of Perpetual Help in the final play-in game.

Tiu also said that they were "outcoached" and promised "we will bounce back stronger."

On Wednesday, Tiu also aired his disappointment in missing the Final Four bus because of the league's play-in format.

With CSB's elimination, the Perpetual Altas completed the semis cast alongside Letran Knights, Mapua Cardinals, and the San Beda Red Lions.

Watch the NCAA Final Four games on Sunday staring 12 pm, live on GTV and via livestream at NCAA Philippines and GMA Sports' social media platforms.
