It's no doubt that Colegio de San Juan de Letran set a high standard in the NCAA after having won two straight titles with dominant runs.
But are the Knights still the team to beat in the upcoming Season 98?
Let the rookies and sophomores answer.
Incoming rookie Marc Cyrus Cuenco of Mapua University said Letran is still the top choice despite the exit of stars Rhenz Abando, Jeo Ambohot, Allen Mina, and Christian Fajarito.
Also picking Letran are first year Ralph Bajon of Emilio Aguinaldo College and John Abis of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA as the Knights will still have a strong roster led by veterans Fran Yu, Brent Paraiso, and Tommy Olivario.
Sophomore Erlan Umpad of host Emilio Aguinaldo College, though, had a different choice with Mapua. According to the 22-year-old big man, the Cardinals proved they can win the title all the way with a stronger lineup.
"I think it's going to be Mapua, they're tough," he said on Tuesday's 'Game On!' episode.
Lyceum of the Philippines University teammates John Bravo and Shawn Umali, meanwhile, said the team to beat are themselves since the winning formula starts within them.
William Sy of Jose Rizal University also likes to think so, stressing: "For me ang team to beat ay ourselves kasi balewala naman 'yung preparation namin if 'di namin siya gagawin."
