Migs Oczon didn't disappoint in his NCAA debut, helping steer his new team De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in an emphatic 86-69 win over Lyceum of the Philippines University to begin their Season 98 campaign.
Oczon, who served residency last season after transferring from National University, lived up to the hype as he poured in 13 points, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals as the crew of CSB coach Charles Tiu got past the Pirates.
But despite the positive result, the 6-foot-tall gunner doesn't want to get complacent. After all, it's only just his maiden game on the NCAA stage.
"Syempre I'm very happy that we got the win, pero medyo kulang pa 'yung pinakita namin. There's still room for improvement and one game pa lang naman 'to," Oczon said on Sunday.
"So we're looking forward doon sa next game namin and focus lang dapat."
Oczon also shared he just wants to repay the trust given to him by the coaching staff, especially now that he's one of the main scorers in the squad.
"Mas nag-work hard ako sa ensayo, I worked on my shots, worked on my game kasi 'yung trust ni coach Charles hindi ko dapat sayangin so 'yun lang, work on my game and perform sa court."
