Marwin Dionisio slowly gaining confidence as JRU continues magical run | NCAA Philippines

Playing in his third year, Marwin Dionisio is slowly building his confidence in matching up with the bigs of NCAA Season 98.

But more than just improving his basketball skills, Dionisio is also embracing his role as one of the leaders of the Jose Rizal University.

"With Marwin naman, it's given eh. What's good with that guy, as the season progresses, nabi-build na niya 'yung confidence niya and ina-accept na niya 'yung role niya na he's my best forward," said JRU head coach Louie Gonzalez on the heels of their 63-57 comeback win over Lyceum of the Philippines University.

Dionisio was the catalyst of the Heavy Bombers' come-from-behind win. He converted 11 points in the fourth quarter, nine during a crucial 16-1 closing run to finish with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.

"Aside from skill set, 'yung responsibility na binibigay ko sa kanya, he's up to that challenge and his composure, especially in that last few minutes," Gonzalez said.

"'Yung closing out, talagang tinake-over na ni Marwin 'yun eh. And ang maganda, 'yung all four na naglalaro ay sinuportahan nila si Marwin."
