San Beda coach Yuri Escueta not surprised by Tony Ynot's career game vs EAC

San Beda University head coach Yuri Escueta has been with the team for only three months, but the rookie tactician knows one of his young guns, Tony Ynot, is made for big things.

He wasn't the least bit surprised when the sophomore dropped a career-high of 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field to go along with 10 rebounds, three assists, and three steals in their 72-64 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College.

According to Escueta, Ynot has been going all out not only in games, but also in practice, which makes games like this expected.

"Hindi naman ako surprised kasi the way he plays, that’s the way he practices everyday kaya kahit pinupulikat na duma-dive pa eh so wala ka talagang masasabi sa player na ‘yan," Escueta shared.

Aside from his skillset, Ynot brings something special to the team with his energy and attitude.

"He’s a special player. He brings that energy, he’s a very positive player," Escueta added.

"‘Yung atmosphere 'pag andyan siya masaya eh. Tapos the way he’s God-given with athleticism and that attitude, wala ka talagang masasabi."
