Arellano guard Travis Mantua glad be able to repay Coach Cholo Martin's trust with good games

Travis Mantua knew his playing time in NCAA Season 98 would be limited given a crowded backcourt for Arellano University with Axel Doromal, Shane Menina, and Kai Oliva.

The Filipino-Australian playmaker, though, got the chance to prove himself with back-to-back impressive outings in their split results against San Sebastian College-Recoletos and Jose Rizal University.

"I was lucky enough that (Arellano coach Cholo Martin) gave me an opportunity to play on the court and I didn't realize I was gonna get this much game time this season," said Mantua.

"And I actually did so I'm happy that Coach Cholo trusts me to do my part."

In Arellano's loss to the Stags last Friday, Mantua dropped 15 points while also grabbing two rebounds and two steals then he picked up where he left off from that game when Arellano stunned JRU on Sunday.

The Chiefs pulled off a 62-52 win with Mantua pouring in 12 markers, four boards, four assists, and three steals.

Mantua's senior in Axel Doromal shared Mantua's quality minutes are a product of the hard work he's been putting in everyday.

"Si Travis sobrang sipag sa practice, wala akong masabi. Sobrang proud lang ako kay Travis kasi back-to-back games na maganda 'yung laro," said Doromal.
