Colegio de San Juan de Letran and San Beda University will take on separate foes on Saturday to strengthen their respective twice-to-beat bids in NCAA Season 98.
Currently tied with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde at 12-4, Letran will take on last season's runner-up Mapua University at 12 p.m. before San Beda clashes with Jose Rizal University at 3 p.m.
Letran and San Beda are coming off their rivalry game last Wednesday where the Red Lions pulled off a wire-to-wire 91-77 victory to snap the Knights' nine-game winning streak.
But San Beda head coach Yuri Escueta understands that their remaining games will be tougher as all Final Four teams are now racing to get that playoffs incentive.
"We still have two games and 'yung two games na 'yun, walang madali. Baka mas mahirap pa 'yun sa Letran game na 'to, sobrang hirap na nga nitong game na 'to but again, sabi ko nga, latter part of the season and hopefully we get our bearings and we get to play better," Escueta said.
"We'll take it one game at a time and hopefully we'll win these next games."
JRU, on the other hand, are hoping to arrest its five-game losing streak that saw the Heavy Bombers fall to Arellano, Benilde, San Sebastian, Perpetual, and Lyceum.
In the first game, Letran will look to get back on its winning ways and claim the solo top spot against the Cardinals, who previously fell to San Beda to formally end their campaign.
