San Beda wallops EAC, forces four-way logjam at 6-3 | NCAA Philippines

San Beda University clobbered Emilio Aguinaldo College in lopsided fashion, 94-74, to force a four-way tie in the team standings of the NCAA Season 98 juniors basketball tournament on Monday.

San Beda improved to 6-3 alongside College of Saint Benilde-La Salle Green Hills, San Sebastian College-Recoletos, and Mapua University. EAC, on the other hand, closed its campaign with a winless 0-9 card.

Chris Hubilla showed the way with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and one steal while Andrei Dungo chipped in 14 markers, three boards, two steals, and one dime as the defending champions remained alive for their title-retention bid.

Mark Mariquit paced the Brigadiers with 22 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals while Theodore Bonafe and Guiller Balan each chimed in nine markers.

With the Red Cubs' victory, San Beda will have to play in a playoff round against San Sebastian with the winner facing Mapua in another knockout match while the loser will be booted out.

The winner between either San Beda or San Sebastian and Mapua will take on LSGH while the loser will fall to fourth spot. Colegio de San Juan de Letran has already sealed the top spot following its 85-67 win over the Red Robins earlier.
