Benilde, San Beda set to compete in AsiaBasket International Championship

Two NCAA teams in De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and San Beda University are set to compete in the AsiaBasket International Championship in Malaysia.

The Blazers and the Red Cubs will join eight other teams in the summer competition which will start on Sunday at the Malaysia Basketball Association Stadium.

Benilde, playing without reigning NCAA Will Gozum, will rely on veterans Robi Nayve, Miggy Corteza, and Migs Oczon, while newest big man Allen Liwag will make his debut for the Taft-based squad.

San Beda, on the other hand, will have the likes of Damie Cuntapay and Peter Alfaro in their lineup.

The two teams will start their respective campaigns on Tuesday.

Celebrity athlete Gerald Anderson is also a part of the Kalos PH team, while other Philippine teams include Shawarma Shack, MFT Fruit Masters, Sanzar Pharmaceuticals, and BGC Builders. Malaysian teams Harimau Malaysia, KL Aseel, and MBC Kirin complete the 10-team tourney.
