NCAA teams will get an early taste of action ahead of next season as all 10 schools will join the 2023 FilOil EcoOil Preseason Cup slated this May 6 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Bannered by defending champion Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Final Four squads De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Lyceum of the Philippines University, and San Beda University will compete in the tourney that will also pit them against their UAAP counterparts.
San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Arellano University, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, Mapua University, Jose Rizal University, and Emilio Aguinaldo College are also tipped to see action.
All 10 NCAA squads are pooled in the one group as all teams will undergo a round-robin format for the eliminations with only the top three teams in each bracket securing an outright quarterfinal berth.
The fourth-ranked teams from each group will still have a chance to move forward through the play-in games but they will have to go through the play-in games for the last two quarterfinal slots against Luzon representative Guang Ming College and the still to be determined VisMin representative.
From there, the crossover knockout playoffs will take effect.
