More sports expected to return as NCAA Season 99 eyes September opening | NCAA Philippines

As the NCAA eyes to open Season 99 in September, more sports are expected to return in the country's longest-running collegiate league.

In a planning session held on Friday, the NCAA and broadcast partner GMA Network ironed out the plans for the new season which will be hosted by Jose Rizal University.

Aside from a bigger opening ceremony, NCAA schools will engage more on their respective communities by providing other platforms for their students to showcase their talents.

Sports such as badminton and table tennis are also being eyed to return, while grassroots programs kiddie and 3x3 basketball will also be included in the sports calendar.

Oliver Victor B. Amoroso, GMA Network Senior Vice President and Head of Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy, thanked the NCAA for their continuous partnership with the network.

"On behalf of GMA, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to be a part of this incredible journey. Looking ahead, your GMA Network is beaming with enthusiasm for the start of Season 99," Amoroso said.

"We had spared no effort - investing in new equipment, training the best personnel, and utilizing GMA's vast resources to bring the NCAA experience to every corner of the nation," he added.

JRU management committee representative Paul Supan also said aside from the sporting events for Season 99, the league is also preparing for its centennial celebration.

The NCAA will still be aired on all platforms of GMA Network. — LA, GMA Integrated News
