Colegio de San Juan de Letran's roster just got even more stacked after securing the commitment of two promising young juniors stars for the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball tournament.
Knights head coach Allen Ricardo confirmed that both Syrex Silorio and Jhuniel Dela Rama of the Squires are moving up to their seniors team to join an already-loaded roster.
Silorio was a key piece in Squires’ back-to-back titles in Seasons 98 and 99 juniors basketball contests, helping the likes of Andy Gemao, Titing Manalili, George Diamante, and Daniel Padilla deliver the goods.
The 19-year-old Silorio is also a huge part in Squires’ Final Four run in the ongoing Season 100 edition, where Letran failed to return to the finals after bowing twice to Benilde-La Salle Green Hills in the semifinals.
Dela Rama, meanwhile, was a revelation for the Squires this year.
The second-year forward has consistently provided Letran with all-around outings to backstop veterans Padilla and Silorio. He averaged 12.56 points, 9.22 rebounds, and 1.67 assists through the elimination round.
They are now tipped to bring their acts to the Knights, who will parade a star-studded lineup next season with transferees Jun Roque and Mark Denver Omega and several holdovers Jimboy Estrada, Kevin Santos, and Deo Cuajao.
Manalili, who wasn’t able to suit up last year due to injury, is also expected to make his much-awaited rookie debut.
