College-bound MJ Vailoces, Randaile Medroso stay committed to San Beda

MJ Vailoces and Randaile Medroso are staying in the lions’ den, committing to San Beda University as they transition from the high school ranks to the collegiate level starting in NCAA Season 101.

Vailoces was the Red Cubs' top scorer in their previous Season 100 campaign, posting 14.09 points, 8.09 rebounds, 2.36 assists, 1.55 steals, and 0.09 blocks to help the squad seize a bronze medal finish.

Medroso, meanwhile, was also crucial for the Red Cubs and he proved that when they defeated rival Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the battle for third, scattering 24 points together with three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block to close out his high school career.

They now get to do these once more, this time in the senior ranks as Red Lions with the same school that gave them the opportunity to play the sport.

"Itutuloy po namin ‘yung career namin sa San Beda kasi ‘yung San Beda po ang nagbigay sa amin ng opportunity na makapaglaro sa malaking liga. Ibabalik lang po namin ‘yung pabor sa kanila," Medroso said.

[We will continue our career in San Beda because San Beda is the one that gave us the opportunity to play in a big league. We'll return the favor to them.]

Vailoces, meanwhile, looks forward to learning from his future coaches and teammates, including veterans Yukien Andrada, Jomel Puno, and Nygel Gonzales as he looks to steer the Red Lions back to top.

"Magsa-San Beda pa rin ako, magse-stay ako. Alam namin na we’re in good hands in San Beda and gusto rin namin na mag-champion sa college," Vailoces said.

[I'll still be in San Beda, I'm staying. We know we're in good hands in San Beda and we also want to become champion in college.]
