Arellano University claimed its third straight win at the expense of Jose Rizal University, 25-17, 25-18, 25-15, on Saturday in the NCAA Season 100 women's volleyball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Arellano led 8-7 in the tight opening of the third set but eventually pulled away with a 7-1 run to claim a 15-8 lead. Momentum clearly shifted on the Lady Chiefs' side then as they cruised to claim the victory.
Moming Padillon and KC Adante led the offense for the Lady Chiefs with 16 and 15 points, respectively, while Sam Tiratira and Pauline De Guzman had eight points apiece as they improved to 9-4.
Cza Ramos, Pat del Pilar, and Cherish Dayame had six points apiece as the Lady Bombers, who are virtually out of Final Four contention with five games remaining, slipped to 1-12.
Arellano will face De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde next on Tuesday, while JRU will go against Emilio Aguinaldo College.
