Lance Nitura dropped his season-high performance to lead defending champion University of Perpetual Help DALTA to a 70-68 escape win against Letran in the NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball tournament on Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

The Perpetual team captain erupted for 21 points together with six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block as the Junior ALTAs snapped their two-game losing streak to improve 3-2 in Group A.

Don Rosales chipped in 10 points, three rebounds, and assist while Lord Dulanas and Ezekiel Zamoras chimed in with eight markers apiece with the former also grabbing eight boards.

A Nitura layup saw Perpetual take a 69-63 lead in the fourth, but the Squires pulled to  within one after unleashing a 5-0 run capped by an Alvin Villanueva triple in the final 2:21.

Nitura then split his charities to make it a two-point lead as the Squires failed to come up with another basket to drop to their second straight loss.

Nathan Egea led the charge for Letran with 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists while Mico Pascual posted 11 markers, six boards, and three dimes as the Squires fell to 3-2 in Group B.
