Mapua University bounced back at the expense of San Beda University, 85-57, in the NCAA Season 101 Juniors Basketball tournament on Friday at the Filoil Centre.

The win came after the Red Robins’ narrow loss to San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 72-71, last October 12.

Mapua started strong, limiting San Beda to just 24 points in the first half compared to its own 44-point output. It was all Mapua from there, as they led by as much as 36 points, 77-41, past the halfway mark of the fourth period before claiming the victory.

Froilan Reyes led the Red Robins with 15 points, while Ray Relojo and MJ Bernabe added 14 and 10 points, respectively, as Mapua improved to 3-2.

Andrei Uggadan was the only double-digit scorer for San Beda with 10 points, as the Red Cubs slipped to 1-4.
