Colegio de San Juan de Letran shook off a fourth-quarter rally from Lyceum of the Philippines University, escaping with an 80-72 win in the NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball on Saturday at the Filoil Centre.
The Squires also snapped a two-game losing streak following back-to-back losses to Emilio Aguinaldo College and defending champion Perpetual to improve to 4-2 in Group B.
The Junior Pirates, on the other hand, slipped to 2-3 in Group A.
Justin Cargo led the way with 15 points, six rebounds, four steals, and two assists and he got enough help with Travis Pascual and Alvin Villanueva chipped in 13 and 12 markers apiece as they returned to the win column.
The loss spoiled Lamarcus Pelayo's explosive outing as he detonated for 28 points laced with three rebounds while Steven Creus flirted with a double-double of 12 markers and nine boards.
