
Red-hot Emilio Aguinaldo College claimed the scalp of defending champion University of Perpetual Help System DALTA with an 81-78 overtime escape in the NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball on Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Kelly Coronel continued to pour MVP-like numbers as he posted 20 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, one assist, and one steal while Xyriel Macahipay registered a double-double of 17 markers and 11 boards on top of two dimes and two blocks.
Don Rosales sent Perpetual to a 74-72 lead after firing a huge three-pointer with 50 seconds left in the fourth, but EAC was quick to tie things up after Macahipay calmly sank a pair of free throws off an Arkin Cristobal foul to force the overtime.
Coronel and Macahipay connived in the extra period with the former opening the frame with a layup before the latter. stwo freebies saw EAC take an 80-77 cushion with 2:18 left.
Macahipay then split his charities for a four-point lead en route to the OT escape.
Jim Corpuz and Rosales paced Perpetual with 15 and 12 points each with the former grabbing six rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
