Sean Franco of Arellano University registered a double-double to lead the Braves past San Beda University, 79-74, in the NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball tournament on Friday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.

The Red Cubs were trailing 76-74 with 34 seconds left in the fourth quarter when Benedict Tauber was called for a flagrant foul on Chris Dy. Dy split his free throws, and another foul by Tauber sent Franco to the line, where he calmly sank two free throws to seal the victory for Arellano.

Aside from Franco, Dy and Ray Ladica contributed 11 points apiece for the Braves.

Juris San Juan and Adiam Larosa, meanwhile, led San Beda with 15 points each.

With the win, the Braves improved to 4-3, while the Red Cubs suffered their third straight loss and dropped to 1-5.
