Jose Rizal University’s Justin Lozano is now well after briefly losing consciousness during their match against Mapua University.
Lozano suffered a bad fall while defending Mapua’s Cyrus Nitura under the basket.
In an Instagram story, JRU team captain Shawn Argente shared a photo of Lozano smiling while in the hospital, with the caption, “Fast recovery, brother.”
In an update shared with GMA Synergy, JRU team doctor Dr. Shar Patigas said Lozano underwent a cranial CT scan at a hospital in Mandaluyong and has been admitted for observation.
“It showed no evidence of bleed, fracture, or contusion,” Dr. Patigas said regarding the scan results. “Currently, he’s awake and apparently well.”
Unintentional
Nitura, who was involved in the incident, said the collision was purely accidental.
“Hindi sadya ‘yon. Nakita ko siyang patalon kaya pumeke ako, pero hindi talaga sadya ‘yon,” Nitura explained.
“Parang nakonsensiya siyempre,” he added when asked about how he felt afterward. “Pero hindi talaga sadya ‘yon. Sana walang masamang nangyari sa kanya.”
