The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA reasserted its mastery over last season’s finals foe, De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde–La Salle Green Hills, after a 91-79 victory in the NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.

Holding a slim 78-76 lead with less than four minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Junior Altas caught fire and drilled three triples during a decisive 13-1 run to pull away with under a minute remaining, virtually sealing the victory for the defending high school basketball champions.

Jim Corpuz led Perpetual with 16 points built on four triples, while Dan Rosales and Lance Nitura added 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Jaime Hizon paced the Greenies with 21 points, hitting four shots from beyond the arc, while Josef Calo-oy contributed 20 in the loss.

Perpetual improved to 5-3 in Group A, while Benilde-LSGH slipped to 4-3 in Group B.
