Nathan Egea erupted for a huge double-double to help Colegio de San Juan de Letran eke out a 74-57 against Jose Rizal University in the NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball tournament on Saturday at the Filoil Centre.
Egea dropped a team-high 26 points together with 14 rebounds, two assists, and one steal while Don Valdeavilla chipped in 12 markers, four boards, and two dimes as the Squires improved to 6-4 in Group B.
The Light Bombers, who wasted a 10-point lead on the way to a 17-point loss, absorbed their third straight loss and slipped to 3-7 in the same group.
JRU went off early and established a lead as big as 10 when Persist Loque hit a three-pointer late in the second period for a 32-22 cushion.
But the Squires, who were coming off a 78-63 win over San Sebastian College-Recoletos last week, unleashed a massive fourth quarter with Egea dropping 11 of his overall output in that period alone to fuel the comeback victory.
Lexi Callueng and Loque paced JRU with 13 and 12 points each.
