
Colegio de San Juan de Letran asserted its mastery over De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde–La Salle Green Hills, emerging victorious once again in their second elimination round encounter in the NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball tournament, 88–70, on Friday at the Filoil Centre.
The Greenies held an early 15–10 lead past the halfway mark of the first frame, but the Squires pulled away in the second period to take a 55–39 advantage by halftime.
Letran then continued to hold off Benilde-LSGH despite the latter’s efforts to mount a comeback.
Nathan Egea once again led the Squires with 19 points, six assists, four rebounds, and a steal, while Alvin Villanueva chipped in 15 points as Letran improved to 7–4.
Josef Calo-oy was a rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points, while Jaime Hizon and Camillo Jugo added 13 and 10 points, respectively, as the Greenies slipped to 6–5.
