College of Saint Benilde–La Salle Green Hills staved off a gritty Jose Rizal University stand to pull off a 93-88 win in the NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Plenty of heroes rose for the Greenies with Jaime Teodoro dropping a season-high 24 points together with 10 rebounds while Josef Calo-oy and Patrick Pasinos chipped in 23 and 15 markers apiece.

Andre Bautista churned out 12 markers, five assists, and four rebounds while Jaime Hizon finished with 10 points as they improved to 7-5 in Group B, sealing an outright quarterfinals berth.

Hizon proved instrumental in the endgame, dropping the basket that gave LSGH a slim 89-86 lead amid a furious JRU rally in the fourth period.

Hizon then converted a pair of free throws that made it a five-point cushion for last year's runners-up, 91-86, but he committed a crucial foul on CJ Satparam from the three-point line with the latter sinking two of the three freebies to cut the deficit to three.

JRU wasn't able to secure the offensive rebound, allowing Teodoro to finish it off with two charities as the Greenies bounced back from back-to-back losses to San Beda University and Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

Datu Usop and Khellian Taparan posted 16 points apiece with the latter hauling 12 rebounds in the loss. The Light Bombers fell to 4-9 in Group B and will be relegated to the knockout play-in stage.
