
Colegio de San Juan de Letran took down twice-to-beat Arellano University, 77-69, in their do-or-die quarterfinals match on Friday at the Filoil Centre to advance to the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball semifinals.
In their previous outing, Letran defeated the Chiefs, 87-78, in the first game of the quarterfinals.
Letran led by as many as 14, 50-36, at the 6:42 mark of the third period before the two teams went neck-and-neck. Arellano managed to pull within four, 71-67, but the Knights responded with a 6–0 run to virtually seal the victory.
Jimboy Estrada led the Knights with 19 points, while Kevin Santos and Jun Roque added 15 and 11, respectively.
T-Mc Ongotan tallied 23 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort, while Anjord Cabotaje chipped in 18 points.
The Knights will face the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in the best-of-three semifinals.
