Regardless of who’s on the other side or what’s on the line, Janti Miller keeps it simple: he goes out there and enjoys the game.
That didn't change even in his first taste of the NCAA Final Four on Tuesday, powering San Beda University to a one-sided 91-72 win against De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in Game 1 of their best-of-three semifinals.
The Filipino-American recruit delivered just like he has all season, exploding for 29 points, nine rebounds, and one assist to propel the Red Lions closer to a finals return.
Even in his maiden Final Four appearance, Miller performed as if he had been here many times before.
"I’ve been saying all year that I just go out there and I just play with my heart at all times. If I’m flowing, I’m flowing. Today was one of the days I was flowing," Miller said.
"And if I wasn’t, I’m going to help other people get their flow. So this is just one of those games that I was flowing."
Miller, however, was quick to share the spotlight. He praised his explosive partner Bryan Sajonia’s value to the team as the former Far Eastern University standout shone in the match as well, even after sustaining a cut above his left eye early in the second quarter.
Sajonia sparked their fourth-quarter breakaway by unloading three straight three-pointers to open the frame as they pulled away for good against last year's finalist Benilde.
Sajonia finished with 26 points, five rebounds, and three assists to help the cause.
"It’s lovely. It makes my job easier because like I said, you gotta pick your poison whether I get off or he gets off but today we both went out there and scored," Miller said.
"That’s one of our best games so it just makes my job easier."
