San Beda University star guard Janti Miller is listed as day-to-day after sustaining a knee contusion in Game 1 of the semifinals against De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde last Wednesday.
In Game 2 on Friday, Miller sat out as the Red Lions fell to Benilde, 77-75.
“It’s hard to play when you have your key players on the bench,” San Beda head coach Yuri Escueta said.
“Hindi siya comfortable playing, ‘yun ang feeling niya. Ayaw naman namin siyang pilitin, of course, career niya ’yan and health niya ’yan, so pinagpahinga muna namin siya."
With Miller out, the likes of Nygel Gonzales and Bryan Sajonia stepped up for the Mendiola-based crew. However, an Ian Torres floater at the final buzzer handed the win to the Blazers.
Fortunately for the Red Lions, they took Game 1 of the best-of-three series, and Sunday’s game will determine the opponent of Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the finals.
“Hopefully, with the help of our PT and doctor, we get him back on Sunday.”
Game 3 of the semis series will be played at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
