Longtime San Beda University standout Yukien Andrada shared a heartfelt message as his collegiate basketball journey with the Red Lions officially came to a close.
Andrada spent a total of eight years representing San Beda—five seasons with the Red Lions in the NCAA seniors division and three years with the Red Cubs in the juniors ranks.
“8 years,” Andrada wrote.
“I’m forever grateful for San Beda. Being able to wear that Red and White Jersey and represent San Beda is an honor and one of the greatest experiences I had in my life.”
Andrada admitted that representing San Beda came with pressure, but said it was a challenge he welcomed.
“That kind of pressure is what helped me to grow and to become who I am right now. A 1x Red Cub Champion and a 2x Red Lion Champion. I am glad that I was able to experience it here at San Beda,” he said.
He also thanked everyone who became part of his San Beda journey, including his coaches, teammates, and loved ones who supported him throughout the years.
“To the whole San Beda Community, thank you so much for embracing me ever since I came here. My whole 8 years here in San Beda, you were the ones who made it feel like home for me. You all are there reason why the Red Lions are very successful and it is because of you guys. I’m just really proud and thankful for being part of this community,” he added.
Andrada has already taken the next step in his basketball career, making his PBA debut last December with the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots.
San Beda, meanwhile, won its 24th NCAA collegiate title last December.
