Rising star Jhuniel Dela Rama is taking his talents to Mendiola after deciding to leave San Sebastian College-Recoletos and transfer to San Beda University.
Dela Rama confirmed the development to GMA News Online, sharing that he has opted to jump ship to the Red Lions after just one season with the Golden Stags in NCAA Season 101.
A prized recruit in the high school ranks with the Letran Squires, Dela Rama rose to prominence in his collegiate rookie year with San Sebastian, posting double-double performances to establish himself as part of the squad’s core.
His stellar showing earned him the Defensive Player of the Year award, as well as a spot in the Mythical Five alongside back-to-back MVP Allen Liwag, Kevin Santos, Titing Manalili, and Janti Miller.
However, upon the conclusion of the season, Dela Rama revealed that his future with San Sebastian was uncertain following a challenging year for the Golden Stags.
Dela Rama will be eligible to play in NCAA Season 103.
His transfer comes shortly after Janti Miller parted ways with San Beda University.
