Mark Belmonte is set to bolster Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the NCAA after concluding his three-year stint with the University of the Philippines in the UAAP.
Knights coach Allen Ricardo confirmed Belmonte's move from Katipunan to Intramuros with the 6-foot-5 gunner looking to inject his championship experience into Letran.
Belmonte suited up for three seasons with the Fighting Maroons and was part of the team that won it all in UAAP Season 87 by defeating De La Salle University in the finals.
Belmonte's final year with UP saw the school reach the final round again, but they faltered against the same team as the likes of Jacob Cortez and Kean Baclaan steered the Green Archers to the throne.
He is now expected to give Ricardo and the Knights a much-needed boost in their redemption tour, joining key holdovers Titing Manalili, Jimboy Estrada, and Kevin Santos.
Letran is coming off a runner-up finish in Season 100, reaching the finals round before eventually falling to longtime rival San Beda University.
Belmonte is expected to suit up in NCAA Season 103 as he will still serve his residency.
